Acids

Asit Ticaret, Asitler

Acids are hydrogen compounds, which produce hydrogen ions in water. The hydrogen ions render the solutions acidic. The acids turn blue litmus paper into red. Most of the food items contain acids. Different acids give the sour taste to the lemons, vinegar, sour apple, and syrups. The accumulators contain sulfuric acid and the digestive fluids in the stomach contain hydrochloric acid.

They usually have a sour taste, change the color of indicators (turn blue litmus paper to red), when react with bases, they create salt and water. Apart from these, they have many diverse characteristics. These specific characteristics are due to their anion content and undissolved molecules. Some acid molecules have a tendency to leave different amounts of free hydrogen into the solution.
